One More Day

Well, we have only one more day until Bailey and Mommy leave for their grand adventure in Disney World. We are packed and ready to go and so very excited. And then we hit bumps...

Wouldn't you know, as with everything, God wants to make it interesting? So far, we've encountered two potential issues but have thwarted both of them. I think God finds it humerous making me stress. Or maybe it's a test of faith. Either way, I have a few more gray hairs to dye because of it. Now since you are wondering what has happened, let me waste no more time.

The first bump is related to a rash that Bailey has had on her arm for about a week. We kept watching it with no real concern as it didn't seem to bother her. Yesterday morning as Daddy was dressing her for school, he called me in to see that the rash (which really looks like little pimples) had spread to her other arm and both her legs. I panic and decide maybe we should get her to the doctor before infesting an entire park full of other children. Luckily, there was no need to panic. She just a had reaction caused by a viral infection of sorts. The doctor said it usually comes after fever (which we did not notice) but that it is not contagious if the fever is gone. She did warn us, however, that heat will make it look worse than it is. I've decided to use that to our advantage to try to get others with kids to get out of line for fear we are contagious. Hee, hee! The other good news is she checked Bailey's ears for the flight to make sure there was no infection and there is none so if she screams, it's not the ears. (One other bragging note: The doctor also told us that Bailey is talking on a 2 year old level since she can put three to four words together now. She must get that from her Mommy. Ha!)

Our second bump, and the one that could have been most detrimental, is that my mom (who is flying from Vermont to Orlando) is expecting massive snow fall tonight - up to 14 inches overnight and another 7 tomorrow. JetBlue (learning from its past mistakes) has already put out the offer to cancel flights without penalty. After much dilemma and debate, Mark (my wonderful stepfather) took the initiative to put Grandma on a flight tonight at 5:30 pm and book her a hotel room at the Hyatt in the Orlando airport just in case she couldn't get out tomorrow. Whew! Another disaster avoided. Bailey would really have been devastated if she had to wait any longer to see Grandma.

Things usually come in threes so I'm hoping the remaining bump happens today (if it's going to happen at all). Let it be before we leave for Mickey's house rather than once we get there. No matter what - we are all going to have a blast. I will post our adventures shortly after we return. As Mickey would say, "See ya real soon!"
